The Luthier

My Story
Growing up, my family home was nestled in the middle of the woods. My brother and I spent our childhood playing outside in the forest, surrounded by trees stretching as far as the eye could see. I've always been drawn to nature and its beauty. My dad took us backpacking in Canada above Lake Superior almost every year, where I found peace in the wilderness. It was during these camping trips that I first learned to identify different trees, sparking my love for nature. I was surrounded by the sounds of the wind in the trees, babbling streams, and the crashing waves of Lake Superior.
My first real experience building guitars came when I was stationed overseas in Japan with the Navy. I wanted to create a replica of Eddie Van Halen’s “Frankenstrat.” I gathered tools from local stores and ordered the rest online, gradually learning each step of the process. Without anyone to guide me, I relied heavily on internet forums and YouTube videos. By the end of the project, I had created a "guitar-like object" that looked amazing, though it didn't sound or play perfectly. Despite its imperfections, I took pride in having made it on my own. This first build taught me valuable lessons about fixing guitars and improving my craft.
After building that first guitar, I knew that lutherie was my calling. I discovered a way to blend my passions for music and woodworking into creating something beautiful. Not only could I shape the sound of the instrument to my liking, but I could also craft a stunning piece of art. Since then, I've dedicated myself to building the highest quality instruments and confidently repairing people's most prized possessions. I source the finest wood from around the world for my builds, paying meticulous attention to every detail. From setting the neck angle to adjusting the action to the customer's specifications, every step in the process is crucial.
